Formatisi a Manchester dopo l’uscita di Mick Hucknall dalla band The Frantic Elevators, i Simply Red sono una vera e propria istituzione nel panorama pop.
Dalle loro cover di “The Valentines Brothers”, “Money’s Too Tight (To Mention)” fino ai loro classici come “Holding Back The Years”, “Something Got Me Started” e “Home”, Song Book vuol celebrare i primi 25 anni della loro carriera artistica e musicale.
I primi 3 CD includono un decennio: gli anni ’80, ’90 e 2000, mentre il quarto CD contiene le re-incisioni di alcune delle loro più celebri hit e numerose rarità e curiosità.
È la prima volta che una raccolta completa dei Simply Red è disponibile in un unico box (nello stesso formato troviamo altri box di 4CD come Storyteller di Rod Stewart, The Chain dei Fleetwood Mac e Mythology dei The Bee Gees).
