Simple Minds: finalmente Celebrate!

Con oltre trent’anni di carriera e più di sessanta milioni di album venduti nel mondo i SIMPLE MINDS tornano con “Celebrate – The Greatest Hits”, la nuova raccolta dei grandi successi della band di Jim Kerr, disponibile dal 26 marzo, su etichetta Virgin/EMI.

La retrospettiva contiene due brani inediti incisi appositamente per questo progetto, “Blood Diamonds” e “Broken Glass Park”, e ripercorre la lunga carriera del gruppo di Glasgow, dagli esordi nel 1979 con l’album “Life in a day” fino all’ultimo “Graffiti Soul”.

“Celebrate – The Greatest Hits+” esce in duplice formato: un doppio cd con 36 brani ed un box clamshell in edizione limitata in triplo CD comprendente 50 brani che hanno fatto la storia di una delle band più importanti nel mondo.

I SIMPLE MINDS, che saranno presto in tour in UK, hanno attraversato quattro decadi esplorando territori musicali sempre differenti e mantenendo sempre il loro sound fresco, innovativo e originale, grazie alle doti vocali uniche del loro leader Jim Kerr.

“Avevamo scritto questo brano per il progetto Lostboy! ma io e Charlie (Burchill) volevamo sentire come l’avrebbero suonata i Simple Minds… il testo racconta di quando, da adolescenti, giravamo per il Queen Park a Glasgow e di quanto ci divertivamo: “Broken Glass Park” è magica e mistica, è la nostra “Strawberry Fields Forever” e probabilmente è una delle nostre più belle canzoni”.
